Glass
Trying to find a break from all the physically intensive creative work she had been doing, Kym Nicolas started creating small cathedral-glass wind chimes. Of course, just as with any other of Nicolas' projects, the glasswork became much bigger than she had anticipated. The wind chimes became mobiles. Mobiles with over 100 unique pieces of glass. As with the trademark lamp reflections, the wind chimes and mobiles also produce reflections of multi-colored shadows. The mobiles worked their way into sculptures. These glass sculptures have become the most impressive and meaningful project for Nicolas to date. The four sculptures represent one piece called "Transformation: The Art of Becoming." Germination. Sprouting. Full Bloom. Going to Seed.
